Testimonials from past Vader Charter Trips

Capt'n Tim,
I am writing to thank you and your mate Vinnie for three impressive days of fishing. I extend this thanks on behalf of the Onion brothers, Ken & Bill, Tom Martin and myself. It is not often that one person is blessed with seamanship and the ability to catch trophy fish to the extent that you are. Our advice to anyone coming to Alaska fishing for Halibut is to book their trips with Captain Tim Erion, Vader Charters and to listen to every word Capt'n Tim says to help you catch your limit. It's like nothing else you have ever done before! Being from Maryland and fishing the Chesapeake Bay we thought we had been fishing...we were just playing in the sand compared to fishing in Alaska.

Till our next trip

Captain Tim, Just a note to thank you for a wonderful day of fishing. Sam and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was such a pleasure to be on beautiful boat, with state of the art rigging and a professional charter captain. We will definitely be using your services again and will recommend you to our friends. If you are ever planning a trip to Idaho, give us a call and we will try to treat you to the same fine service you provided us. We have sent a small "thank you" gift via snail mail...hope you get a kick out of it.

Fondly, Sam and Christy Morford

Tim:
Thanks for the heads-up. I regret Carolyn and I probably won't be up your way this summer. We do continue to give your name & number to folks planning on heading your way however. There's no doubt in our minds that you are Number One among the charter captains. Have a great season!

Carpe diem!

The following is one of the best recommendations I've ever had from another fishing guide that used to guide in Alaska...

Hello Mike,
My name is Larry. I was lurking on I-fish and saw your post on BFB's. I am headed to Soldotna in mid July to visit my cousin. I am interested in Halibut fishing for (chickens) and was wondering if you still guide there or know of others that do. We are likely going to have a party of 4. If you don't mind I would like any info you can provide. It is my first time up there.

I was also thinking of spending some time chasing kings on the Kenai. I am really up in the air on what is going to take place as there are other family members that may have other interests and or ideas. If you have some spare time and what to educate a new comer to the AK adventure send me an e-mail or give me a call at home. 503-350-3765 Thanks,
Larry

Hi Larry,
Thanks for the e-mail. I no longer guide in Alaska, but I can without a doubt give you a reference to a Captain on the salt that will work his tail off to give you the best trip possible. When I worked in Alaska, the guy that gave me the knowledge and the help I needed to get customers into fish was Tim Erion. Tim runs charters on the Cook Inlet, and his website is www.vader-charters.com. I can say unequivocally that Tim is the best halibut fisherman I know on the Cook Inlet. If you with to fish for other species, Tim is hooked up with some of the best guides in the entire area.

I'll give you my honest answer to chasing Kings on the Kenai. If you have the opportunity, book a combo trip with Tim for halibut and kings. If the king fishing is good on the Inlet, you will double your catch in one day compared to a halibut trip one day, and a salmon trip another. Contact Tim, and ask him what he thinks. Tim's an honest guy, and he will tell you without doubt if it is worthwhile to do so. If not, he'll book you second day trip on the Kasilof or the Kenai. Just remember, the Kenai is for glory, the other rivers such as the Kasilof are for the fish and the experience.

Sorry if this sounds like a plug for Tim, but really it is. Without doubt I can say that Tim will give you every bit of his effort and his knowledge to provide you with the best fishing experience you've ever had. Fishing is fishing, and some days are better than others, but bottom line is that he cares. I've sent other friends and referenced other people I've taken fishing to Tim, and every time they've come back happy. Tim's the man, and will earn his keep.

I'll put my money where my mouth is.....Come back and tell me that Tim didn't do everything he could to get you into fish and I'll give you a free trip. Never happened yet, so I'm not out a dollar so far!!! :)

Give me a call and I'd be happy to discuss with you further. My cell is 971-998-7723.
Best regards,
Mike Jespersen

Tim,
Just checked out your website.
Jim Donovan, John Potts, and I came home from an outstanding trip to Alaska with absolutely great memories of June 20 -- the day we spent on your boat in the Cook Inlet.

Thanks again!

Capt. Tim & Jacqui,
Just a line to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent visit to Alaska. The fishing experience is something neither of us will ever forget. We've been enjoying sharing our halibut with friends and family. It was so generous of you to share the 'moose burgers' with all of us. And of course, we won't forget very soon the lovely & knowledgeable park ranger, who 'got us' with the Snow Snakes story!!!

Sincerely,
Jim & Mary Nell Andrews, Missouri

Capt'n Tim & Jacqui Erion,
You were right when you told us to come to Alaska. It was always a far away dream that turned into reality in August. We stayed on the Kenai River caught some rainbow trout, Sockeye and Coho Salmon. The 3 days of Halibut fishing aboard your boat "Vader" was the crowning glory to our Alaska trip. Your terrific spirit and knowledge of the sport left no doubt in my mind we were with the right Captain. Having fished the Chesapeake Bay for Stripers in the 40" class I thought I was a match for Alaska Fishing...Boy was I wrong! Never had fish whip me so bad, but the fight was a memory I'll cherish for ever. Those Halibut are beautiful both ways....nice and white or Golden Brown with cocktail sauce!

Love you guys,
Dave & Joan Hagan, Maryland

Tim,
Thanks again for a great charter. The fish is excellent, the boat was superb but the company was the best! You should mention the "Tim Show" on your web site. I get rolls of laughter every time I tell the moon walk story! It's times like that which take me deeper and deeper into the "Alaska Spell" as I call it.

Next summer I have business again in Soldotna. Would you mind e-mailing me back which are the ideal weeks for Halibut and Salmon? If I do it right I can lock down the Biz the week before and take vacation the best week.

Le'me, know.
Thanks again,
Scott

As I told Linda Sullivan, I really enjoyed your charter boat. It is the first enjoyable charter I've been on in 30 years. The last charter I went on around here pissed me off so much I immediately went & bought my first boat. If you ever need a recommendation, use me as a reference.

Good morning Tim....We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed fishing with you guys. It was really a great time....we caught a lot of fish and had a good time so what more can a person ask??? We had another good day on the Kasilof with Dan, we had a good flight home so we will see you later on this summer or next year.
Thanks again. Charlie and Bob

Tim, Just a quick note of thanks for a great trip even with the rain and the big tide we did well. Your big boat sure did make it nice in rough seas. I hope that you get in a lot of trips before the winter sets in. I may be up again next year so I will be in touch.
Thanks,
Doug Petersen
